2026 Summer Reading Challenge – Read To the Beat!

Wakefield Libraries will be turning up the volume this summer with the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge – Read to the Beat! celebrating the joy of music and the power it has to move, inspire, and connect – all through the magic of reading.

The Summer Reading Challenge runs from 4 July to 12 September. Children can drop into any Council Library from Saturday 4^th July to register for free and pick up a collector’s card, then choose and read six books over the summer holidays to win prizes. There is a special challenge for children aged three and under too!
