Witches and Wizards (26-30th Oct)
This October half term visit Pontefright Castle for a cackling good time!
Meet our very own witch brewing her secret potions, create creepy crafts and follow our eerie trail. What will you discover?

Ever wondered what life was like for Ponte People in the past?
Explore a range of fascinating photos from historic Pontefract, get hands-on with some old cameras and create a crafty photo frame to take home!

We’re All In This Together – Rachel List Exhibition (Until 29th Oct)
Don’t miss your chance to explore Pontefract artist Rachel List’s iconic murals and learn about how they brought light to Pontefract during the lockdown.
You can also make your mark on our Rainbow Wall and learn some Makaton!
The exhibition closes on Thursday 29th October at Pontefract Museum
We’re open 10am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and 10.30am – 4.30pm Saturdays.

Wakefield Women (25th Oct)
Lots of wonderful, inspiring women have called Wakefield home in the past, and we’d love for you to meet them!
Drop-in to Wakefield Museum on Tuesday 25th October to explore a range of photos of Wakefield Women, learn about their stories and create a story or picture of your own. All materials provided.

Let’s Do Some Simple Sewing (27th Oct)
Fancy getting handy and learning a new skill this half term?
Join us at Wakefield Museum to learn about the fascinating and important history of sewing – and give it a go yourself!
We’ll explore a range of museum objects, then you and your family group will work together to make fun and fanciful patchwork creations to take home. No previous sewing experience is required!
£2.50 per child, Free for accompanying adults
Recommended ages 6+

Arty Autumn SEND Families Session (28th Oct)
Get creative and crafty at Castleford Museum this October half term!
SEND Families are welcome at all our sessions, but on Fridays we make it extra special with a relaxed atmosphere and changes to the sensory environment at the museum.
This session will be run with more sensory activities, more focus on independent learning, a lower light level and with a sensory tent and ear defenders available upon request.
All materials provided free of charge.
