Compass Rise

Compass Rise offers a range of advice, support and education on emotional health. They support children, young people and families to improve and maintain emotional health.
Wellbeing Practitioners help children and young people who are experiencing mild or emerging emotional health difficulties to stop things getting any worse. Issues may include low mood, anxiety, managing different emotions like anger, being scared, being bullied, friendship problems, loneliness and sadness.
They also support parents/carers who may be suffering with emotional and mental wellbeing issues themselves as well as those who are struggling to support their child’s emotional and mental wellbeing.
Compass Rise also offers a Specialist Bereavement Counselling Service. This service offers 1:1 and group-based counselling to children and young people experiencing grief . Bereavement Counsellors also deliver workshops for parents on how to support a child through grief and loss. These workshops are delivered face-to-face in Family Hubs and as an online twilight offer.

Wakey Wellness App
Compass Rise has worked with children and young people to create our wellbeing app – Wakey Wellness. This provides access to help and support on relationships, healthy eating, being happy, looking after yourself and bereavement. It’s designed specifically for Wakefield children, young people, and families as well as people who work for the community in Wakefield.
