Family Voice Meeting

Our next Family Voice meeting is on Friday 9 June 2026 at 1:30pm at Kendal Drive Family Hub.

Oliver will be there to hear your experience of services as well as look at new ideas of how we can improve services or come up with something new together!

A couple of things we’ll be chatting about is: play and what support, ideas or information would be useful; and access to health appointments and advice around healthy options.

John, Family Hub Coordinator

Hi, I’m John and I’m the Coordinator for Kendal Drive Family Hub. My favourite aspect of my role is welcoming families and creating a safe, friendly space where children aged 0–11 and their parents feel supported. I began my career as a volunteer, supporting children during a residential experience in the Lake District. That experience inspired me to pursue a path working directly with children and families.

Abi, Early Years Early Intervention and Prevention (EIP) Practitioner

This role is varied, with no two days being the same. One day I might be visiting a parent or nursery,  offering support and advice to help with worries or concerns that families might have, or working in the early years groups at the hub.  I have worked in early years settings throughout my career and as a parent and professional I think the family hub really is at the ‘heart’ of a community, offering support and amazing activities and sessions for parents and children up to 11 years.  It really is a great place to work!

Firzana, Early Years Support Worker

My role includes planning and facilitating groups for families and parents, whether these are Stay and Plays or programmes for parents such as Baby and Me. I am able to offer advice and support to parents and families regarding numerous topics, such as sleep, and I can signpost onto further support and resources too. My favourite part of my job is providing parents with ideas and information that will allow them to thrive as parents and families, and support their children to the best of their ability. Watching parents access the different groups the family hub has to offer and seeing the positive impact it has on their child’s development and overall family life is a huge reward.
