24 April 2024 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
LGBTQIA+ fundamental knowledge (in areas that young people have chosen as development points for adults from their experiences), there is chance to expand current knowledge and build confidence in best practise working with Queer youth.
The training has been developed with young people to share their voice with adults making the training Wakefield specific which sets it apart from other LGBTQIA+ training available. The training is interactive and there are resources (produced with young people) to take away from the session.
Looking at: gender, sexuality, barriers, hate crime, allyship, changes that can be made to practise/best practise, unpacking/fact checking current understanding, studies and spaces to find out further information
The aim of the training is for the people to leave prouder and more confident in their ability to work with young LGBTQIA+ people and also create more allies through their work.
